Villa Can Feliz, Jorn Utzon

Designed as a house for himself, Utzon's secluded villa in Mallorca overlooks the ocean from a sloping site. Jorn Utzon is a danish architect whom is most notable for winning the 1957 competition of designing Sydney's opera house.
The Villa Can Feliz house captures light with a large open courtyard and ceiling to floor windows.

The building is built as a split level so as to embrace the slope of the site on which it sits on, thus harnessing a better visual fitting to its surrounding terrain and environment. The buildings design consists of singular shape, a square. The building is constructed predominately out of stone thus providing large load bearing walls.
